Rallye de Charlevoix 2021

A few weeks ago, I convinced the rest of the family to take a little road trip to the Charlevoix region to go and see the Rallye de Charlevoix. They were not hard to convince and we reserved a nice hotel for the Saturday of the rally weekend. Although the rally was not open to spectators, we managed to find a couple of stages near us and watch from a distance. I can't say the boys loved the experience, but they seemed to enjoy it somewhat. I was glad to be back after about 20 years since attending the event. Here are a few photos.

Wide-body Civic at the finish line

This WRX came in at a lower speed, on a flat tire

I like to see economy cars in rallies

... like this Suzuki Swift

Subarus were the most popular cars, as usual

The stickers on the car are cooler and more detailed than in the past

There were a couple of newer Subarus too

At the start line

All generations of WRX were represented

Including a couple of first generation cars

The boys goofing off at the start of the Clermont stage

The "TwoBrits" Impreza

Classic livery on this Subaru

... still looks good after all these years

The Civic at the start of Clermont

One of the quicker 2WD cars

... a cool Fiesta

Another top contender in 2WD

An E36 BMW hatch

Another WRX...

... and another

One of the rare Mitsubishi Evo's in the event

Up close with the Evo

Green WRX

Another classic blue GC Impreza

... this time with air in all tires

A very stock-looking Golf

... probably a solid base for a rally car

GC Impreza and Swift

The Swift in action

Nice scenery in the distance

This AE86 looked great on its meaty tires

Looked good and sounded good too

The famous La Pax stage

The classic-theemed WRX on its second pass through Clermont

The boys catching the action

The Corolla accelerating down the street
