Car spotting in the Windy City

Last week we went on a family road trip to Chicago. It was too much distance to cover in one day (13 hours) so we stopped overnight on the way there and on the way home. I hadn't been to Chicago in over 15 years, so I was glad to make the trip. We walked a lot and hung out in our cute hotel room right in the city centre. Parking was expensive (51$US per day!) but everything else we did was pretty affordable. The M3 was quiet and performed flawlessly, with a smooth ride, decent fuel economy and cold air conditioning. We also got to take the boys to Niagara Falls for the first time, which was pretty cool. I think a good time was had by all.

The mix of cars you come across in Chicago is really a strange one. One thing I noticed, is the streets are loud. The sirens of police and ambulances seem to be turned up to 11 and they never shut them off when driving. The motorcycle exhausts are often the loudest thing you'll hear. There were many American cars with V8's and really loud exhausts too, particularly Hellcats and other Dodge products. To top it all off, there was an airshow nearby and we often heard fighter jets flying over the city. It was kind of weird, being in such a loud place... it made the teeming streets of Italy seem quiet by comparison.

The exotic car dealership on Rush street had this Bugatti Type 35 replica, which appears to be a Pur Sang... I could not get a good photo through the window
