Spring is here, even though it's still a bit cold

The temperature has been all over the place, but generally on the cold side. At least it's finally stopped snowing and people (including myself) can finally get out our summer cars.

I was able to get the M3 out from under its frozen car cover. Last weekend I finally changed the electric fan motor and control unit. What looked like a 3-hour job took me more like 7, due to seized bolts. I finally got it working, so I should no longer have to worry about overheating with the a/c on, although there is still a leak somewhere in the system...

I got the Civic out as well and did a few laps with it on the track at St-Eustache, but it was smoking like never before and I will have Pat fix all the oil leaks before taking it out again. I didn't get much lap data, best lap was around 1:04, but everything felt fine. I have an appointment to get the roll bar installed in the next few days. The only other car I drove at the school was a 370Z and I quite liked it. One of my students had a Focus RS, and it was not terribly impressive from the passenger seat. The interior of the car does not match the 60 000 $ price tag... The 370Z's was nicer, and it starts at 30 000 $.

As for the Saab, I went to the scrap yard to find a new side skirt. I ended up getting the Subaru version, which is similar, but not the same as the Saab version. It fits perfectly, however. I painted it black and it doesn't look too bad on the car. The car is at Pat's so he can figure out what that clunk is in the rear suspension.

As you can see here, there are more and more interesting cars on the streets these days...

I still like the Urus
Cool car, even though it was dented
This 944 had a race seat and stripped out interior
Nice, but boring wheels
The red Civic covered in red buds
You don't see a lot of these early VR6 GTi's... this one was quite rusted
A great all-weather car
I really like these new Maserati wheels
This old Ford (don't know the model) looked mean and clean

There are still some cool cars being produced for enthusiasts...
Don't love the wrap, but awesome car...
The Civic in its natural environment
The race group at the AISA school... 5 BMW's out of 14 cars
Cool old Saab 900 Turbo at Canadian Tire
C63 AMG 507 Edition
Flat grey E63S
The M3 on its first night out of hibernation
And the Civic, just out of Carl's storage garage
Cool colour for this M6... snow in April
Cool car for a freak snow storm
Another expensive SUV that is not much to look at...
A photo of the Saab's "good" side
Remnants of a TR7 at the junk yard
One of those cars you don't see anymore on the road...
The Saab and its modern cousin
The winglets are a bit much, but I like these small AMG's more than I used to
The rarest car I've seen this spring... E9 3.0 CSL
One of the more high-end AMG's
A rare Karma in front of the office
